His Excellency the Deputy Ambassador of the Philippines Embassy in Saudi Arabia, along with embassy officials, made a visit to the ICU unit in King Abdulaziz Medical City in Riyadh to see Princess Ann & Princess May, the Filipino Siamese Conjoined Twin that where separated last Saturday 20th March 2004.
His Excellency Dr. Abdullah Al Rabeeah, Chief Executive Officer of the Saudi Arabian National Guard Health Affairs and head of the medical team that preformed the separation operation,
received the Deputy ambassador. Dr. Al Rabeeah thoroughly explained to the Deputy ambassador each step of the operation and confirmed that the twin's condition was stable.
The Deputy Ambassador expressed his sincere gratitude to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz for the humane gesture of ordering the operation to be done in Saudi Arabia on his Royal Highness's personal expense. The Deputy Ambassador also presented his Excellency Dr. Al Rabeeah with a Certificate of Appreciation from the Philippines government, which expresses gratefulness for the great efforts made by his Excellency and his team, that in turn relieved the two girls of their suffering.
