
Based on the directive of the
Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud the conjoined twins attached at the head (craniopagus) were successfully separated at
King Abdulaziz Medical City, Riyadh on Saturday, 27 October 2007 in an operation lasting 18 hours. The operation was carried out in 7 phases by 22 members from specialties in Neuro Surgery, Anesthesia, Plastic Surgery, Pediatric Surgery, Nursing and technicians. The Multidisciplinary team included 60 members. The rehearsal procedure was conducted on Wednesday, 24 October 2007.
